Be Seen on the water! From the Yak Attack manufacturer website - VISIPole™ is a high visibility safety pole for kayak fishing. Unlike many light poles on the market that are strictly nighttime devices, we have designed this high performance, great looking accessory to improve a kayaker's visibility during both day and night. We've cut no corners with this design, and think it's the most visible safety pole you can buy. With several models to choose from, you're sure to find the one that suits you best. The Mast • Manufactured from a high quality, UV resistant plastic that will last for years to come, it's light enough to avoid adding unnecessary weight to your kayak, but much more visible, sturdy, and better looking than a fiberglass whip. • With a height of 4'-6", you will truly be visible from 360 degrees. Many of our competitors offer short stern lights can be blocked by your body, compromising your visibility.
The VISIPole is designed for year-round, outdoor use. However, extreme temperatures (over 130° F) can cause the mast to become slightly more limber than normal. When storing the VISIPole in an extremely hot location, such as a closed up vehicle on a hot mid-summer day, we recommend laying it flat to avoid potential warping of the mast.
The Light • We looked high and low for a light that would offer the correct balance of performance and efficiency, and the TekTite® marker light that we selected blew away our expectations. With remarkable light diffusing technology, an incredible balance of brightness and burn time ensures you get the visibility you need and a surprisingly low operating cost. • With a burn time of more than 100 hours on 3 AA batteries, you'll save as much as $20 on the first set of batteries compared to other popular safety lights lasting only 8 hours on a set of batteries. Using your VISIPole for an 8 hour night of fishing, your operating cost will be less than 25¢! • Waterproof to a depth of 1000 feet.
The Flag • While rigid flags are sometimes used for similar products, we believe that the flexible flag is a better choice. A rigid flag is very visible when it's perpendicular to your line of sight, but not when it's parallel to your line of sight (pointed straight at you or straight away from you). Flexible flags tend to hang in such a way that they are normally visible from every angle. • Flag clips allow for easy removal of the flag if you decide not to use it for an outing, or if you want to replace it with a similarly sized flag of your choice. Some customers like flying fishing club, team, country, or custom flags. • All flag mounting hardware is stainless steel or brass.
The Stripes • For our white reflective stripe, we use marine grade, USCG approved SOLAS tape. This stuff has unbelievable adhesion properties, and does an amazing job of reflecting light back to the source from wide incoming angles. • Our orange stripes are made from a fade resistant blaze orange tape that is designed for outdoor use in harsh environments. These stripes enhance your daytime visibility with or without a flag. • For all other versions, we use high quality reflective tape, also designed for outdoor use in harsh environments. This improves both day and nighttime visibility and the colors always compliment the VISIPole™ theme.
QuietSlip™ Mounting • The available QuietSlip™ mounting option allows you to slide the VISIPole™ into a vertical rod holder and tether it in place. It's a great fit and is an option that you won't find with our competitors products. • QuietSlip™ foam and rubber foot prevent annoying rattling while you're out on the water. • An elastic tether secures the VISIPole™ in the unfortunate event that your kayak finds its hull pointing skyward. • We've found it interesting at how resourceful our customers are. They have found ways that we never even considered to use this mounting on their kayaks. When you combine the creativity found in the kayak fishing community with the versatility of our products some pretty cool things can happen.
