Sonny Carig - "Islander Express"

My name is Sonny Carig a.k.a Islanderexpress. I have been kayak fishing for several years now and i find it very relaxing.I am very passionate in the sport of kayak fishing. I love being so close on the water and having full control of my own boat. My goal is to share the passion Ii have for the sport to every newbie I can help. I love sharing ideas and stories to my comrades. My fishing background is mostly Saltwater, I am a Saltwater Bass Fisherman, often targeting Spotted Bay Bass, Sand Bass and Calico Bass. My favorite playground to fish is Mission Bay and San Diego Bay. The camaraderie in this sport is the best.

Derwin Chang - "Onipa'a"

Mike Graham - "Mayham"

I have fished all of my life. I grew up on a lake in Northern California. I got into kayak fishing real heavy when I met Derwin. We have fished together every weekend going on 3 years. We have not missed a tounament yet. I finished in 5th place for the year in the plastice navy last year.

Brian Sanners - "Legend Killer"

I have fished practically my whole life,  kayak fishing for about 9 years. I've have taken first place wins in Mission Bay (2 times in 08), and Newport Harbor. Many top 5 finished in places like Newport  Harbor, Huntington Harbor, Mission Bay, Shelter Island, and Cabrillo each.

Mike Boehmke - "Margarita Mike"

Like many others, I started fishing from shore and piers. Then came my surfing days on a long V-block balsa board.
Many days waiting for that next perfect ride, I would look down at many fish swimming beneath me. Soon I was fishing from that old balsa board. I had a lot of fun and it was the best of both worlds.
This was in the late 50's and early 60's, I know, many of you are saying WHAT??? Yep its true, some of us have made it this far.

Well the Army called and marriage followed with 3 girls thrown' in to boot.
So now we are into the 80's and Kayaking hit me. First just paddling and than some ocean and bay races. Fun stuff but, fishing had a hold on me again and its more fun now than ever before in my life.

Bass fishing is what I find most interesting to me with a few Yellowtail trips thrown in to change it up some.
That's the beauty of kayaking. You have lakes, rivers, bays and of course the ocean for us to use a enjoy.

Tight lines to all

Margarita Mike

Kerry Peeler - "Bugz"

My name is Kerry Peeler. I started kayak fishing in 2004 and began fishing the Plastic Navy Tournament Trail the following year. I have been extremely active in kayak fishing ever since. In 2005 I finished 23 rd overall in my first year of competition. In 2006 I moved up the board and finished in 9 th place for the year. In 2007 I had made a choice and decided this was the year for me to really go for the Angler of the Year title. Through a lot of hard work and preparation I managed to climb just short of the top and finished 2 nd overall in 2007. In 2008 I took on a new venture and started the process of creating my own line of saltwater bass jigs. I fished 3 of 4 events in 2008, but my main goal was to produce my line of baits. Even though I did not finish very well for the year I did manage to win the last event of the year at San Diego Bay. This was my first win in a kayak event. At this same time is when I joined Team Tarpon. In 2009 I brought my line of baits, BUGZ Custom Baits, to market in a tackle store and a couple kayak shops. This season I have partnered up to fish the Plastic Navy Tournament Trail.

My main focus in 2009 has been to fish with fellow members of Team Tarpon. We are a group of guys who are all about fishing and having a good time doing it. We are very conscience of the sport and always practice catch and release. We actively pursue reaching out to fellow anglers and are keeping camaraderie and friendship at the top of our objectives. Team Tarpon will stick together through thick and thin and strive to be a model for other fisherman to follow.

Regards,
Kerry Peeler
