Scotty Rocket Launcher - #476 with 241 mount

I mounted a Scotty mount in front of where I sit, and was looking for the perfect rod holder to put in this position. Before I just had the rod holders in my crate and flush mounted behind me. I needed something that would be easy to use and that would fit my rods. I purchased one Scotty holder and then found out that most of my rods were too wide to fit in the holder. I sold that on ebay and was looking for something to replace it. This one looked good in the picture and it performed really well too. It was really easy to drop the rod in the tube, and I did not need to extend its length at all. One of my rods has an enlarged butt end that tried to get stuck and come off, but that was easy to avoid with some care. When a fish bit or I snagged a rock it held great and did not drop my rod in the water. It was very simple to lift the rod up and out of the tube while sitting. I was a little concerned about the length of the tube applying too much force and tearing out the plastic, but it has not happened yet. Just be sure you add enough backing to support this holder. I also use a leash with this holder in use. I would recommend this highly for anyone looking for a rod holder to place in front of their seat.
